Denver, Edmonton And La Cabana Qualify For Pasl-Pro Championship Weekend

The Stockton Cougars, of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro), welcome the Edmonton Drillers, Denver Dynamite and La Cabana de Baja California as the final three teams to qualify for the upcoming PASL-Pro Championship Tournament at Stockton Arena.

The six-team tournament begins Friday, March 13 with the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League champion Drillers taking on La Cabana at 5:00PM. An award ceremony, featuring the announcement of the league's most valuable player, coach of the year and first/second team awards follows at 7:20PM. Friday's festivities conclude with Tigres Dorados MRCI Oaxaca against the Dynamite at 8:00PM.

1790 Cincinnati is the top seeded team and will face the lowest remaining seed from Friday's matches. Stockton will also face a winner from Friday's games. Cincinnati is scheduled to play at 5:00PM and the Cougars will play at 7:30PM.

After winning Liga Mexicana de Futbol Rapido's (LMFR) Central Division, MRCI Oaxaca was the third team to qualify for the tournament. The Cougars were the first team to reserve a spot, while 1790 Cincinnati was the second. Stockton won the PASL-Pro Western Division and Cincinnati won the Eastern Division.

Edmonton squeaked passed Calgary 7-6 in overtime earlier today in Calgary to take the number three seed in the PASL-Pro championship tournament. The Drillers defeated Calgary four times this season in league play, but never by more than one goal.

La Cabana earned the nod as the sixth seed after finishing atop LMFR's Baja Division. They defeated Cuernavaca de Baja California 5-2 in the division title match on March 7.

Denver was in full control of their destiny going in to the final weekend of PASL-Pro play. Their 9-5 road win against Colorado on Sunday clinched their spot as the PASL-Pro wildcard team. The Dynamite is the fifth seed.

The Championship match is at 1:00PM on Sunday, March 15.

All games will be webcast on Saturday's semi-final match featuring Stockton at 7:30PM will air live on 1420 AM KSTN.
