Dynamite Clinch Final Playoff Spot

Published on March 8, 2009 under Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) News Release

The Denver Dynamite clinched the final remaining ticket to Stockton with a 9-5 win over the Colorado Lightning at Ft. Collins Indoor Soccer Center.

Denver finishes the year 9-7. After a rocky start and two coaching changes the Dynamite are suddenly three wins away from the PASL-Pro Championship.

Denver will play on Friday at 8:00pm against Tigres Dorado MRCI Oaxaca.

The other two teams who had playoff aspirations coming into the day were St. Louis and Texas. The Outlaws had to cancel their game because their flight was grounded in a snowstorm in Calgary and they could not make it back to Texas in time for their match against Alamo SC San Antonio. Had Denver lost, the game would have been made up.

St. Louis needed a win and a Denver loss to qualify for the playoffs, but they imploded in the second half of their game in Detroit, losing 15-7. St. Louis finished 8-8, but 1-6 on the road.

Here's the playoff schedule for the PASL-Pro Championship Weekend:

Friday March 13 (all games at Stockton Arena)

5:00pm Edmonton vs. La Cabana

8:00pm Denver vs. Tigres Dorados MRCI Oaxaca

Saturday, March 14 (Semifinals)

5:00pm Game 1 winner vs. Cincinnati

7:30pm Game 2 winner vs. Stockton

Sunday, March 15 (Championship)
