
Denver Cutthroats Sweeps Oakley Weekly Awards

GLENDALE, AZ (February 10, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that the Denver Cutthroats have swept the Oakley Player and Goaltender of the Week Awards for the period ending February 9, 2014. Forward Troy Schwab has been named the week's top skater and goaltender Kent Patterson has been named the week's top goalie (the second time he was won the weekly honor).

Schwab is the premier set-up man in the CHL leading all players with 52 assists. Last week, the Kindersly, Saskatchewan native stayed the course with assists in all three Denver games but in Saturday's game, Schwab notched a hat trick helping the Cutthroats to their second win in three games over the Rapid City Rush last week. Schwab trails only teammate Garett Bembridge in scoring as he currently sits with 66 points (14-52=66).
Patterson had a busy week going 2-0-1 in three straight games against rival Rapid City. The Plymouth, Minnesota native stopped 111 of 118 shots (.941 save percentage) and fell only in a shootout on Tuesday despite stopping 35 of 36 shots and four of five shooters in the shootout. Patterson is 17-8-6 on the season with a 2,76 goals against average and a .916 save percentage.
