Deja Vu: Ice Miners Fall to Jets 1-0

Keystone Ice Miners News Release
CONNELLSVILLE, PA - Although the Jets claimed the season series in convincing fashion with a 7-1-0 mark over the Ice Miners, the teams played tight games throughout, and Saturday's 1-0 final score told the same story. Just as Janesville scored the lone goal of Friday's contest in the 3rd period, history repeated itself Saturday night as Adam Windborg's third period powerplay goal was the difference.
Unlike Friday night's shooting gallery, the Ice Miners registered only 22 shots throughout the night, but held Janesville to just 20. Goaltenders Nick Kossoff and Matt Jurusik kept the game scoreless through 40 minutes. After Noah Batis took his fourth minor penalty of the night, Winborg finally cashed in at 9:45 of the 3rd, tipping home Adam Roeder's point shot.
The loss was the third straight for the Ice Miners and narrowed their 2nd place lead over Soo to just two points as the Eagles swept Johnstown. Janesville's win was its 12th in a row and 22nd in 23 overall games. The Ice Miners begin a nine game road trip in Fairbanks, Alaska on Friday and Saturday night at 11:30 Eastern Time. Fans can watch the games on FASTHockey.com. Keystone's next home game is March 18th at 7:30 against the Johnstown Tomahawks. Fans can purchase two tickets to each of the four March games for just $40 through the end of February as part of a "Final Four Pack". Tickets to all home games are available at keystoneiceminershockey.com or by calling 724-628-4847.
