
Degurse Scores Hat Trick in Channel Cats Win

Huntsville, AL â Mike Degurse scored a hat trick and had one assist as the Huntsville Channel Cats won their fourth consecutive game with a 6-4 win over the Knoxville Ice Bears on Friday night.
James Patterson added two goals and three assists. Jason Greenway also added a goal. Allan Carr had four assists while Luke Phillips, Josh Mandel and Claude Amstutz all had one assist each.
Tom McMonagle had two goals for Knoxville, while Bob Rangus and Todd MacIssac each scored one goal. K.J. Voorhees had three assists while Ryan Hughes, Rangus and Jay Neimac all had one assist.
Scott Graham started in goal for the Channel Cats but received a game misconduct along with Knoxville goalie Jason Tapp. Tapp received a major for slashing Mike Degurse and received a game misconduct for slashing while Degurse was fighting. He then met Graham at midice for another fight.
Matt Carmichael came in and got win after stopping 19 shots and allowing three. Tapp gave up two goals for Knoxville and Blaine Russell gave up three.
The Channel Cats scored two goals in each period and scored on 2-4 power play chances. Knoxville scored one goal by in the first, two in the second and one in the third. They were 1-6 in power play chances.
The two teams meet again tomorrow night in Knoxville.
