April 16, 2008, Evansville, IN - The Evansville Otters have signed former Oakland A's prospect Isaac Omura to a contract for the 2008 season. Omura spent the past three seasons in the Oakland system after being drafted in the 17th round in 2005 out of the University of Hawaii. A two-time All-WAC selection, Omura batted .331 with 36 doubles and 11 homeruns while being rated the best defensive second basemen by Baseball America. While with the A's last season, Omura batted .295 with 19 doubles, 47 RBI and five homeruns. Omura played high school and college ball with fellow Otter Ricky Bauer.
