
Defenseman Chris Driscoll named assistant captain

TORONTO - The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club has appointed Rock defenseman Chris Driscoll as the additional assistant captain for the team.
Driscoll, an NLL veteran for fourteen years will be playing his fourth year with the Rock in 2007. Last season, he collected 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) in thirteen games for Toronto and is among the top twenty all-time NLL leading scorers.
Head coach Glenn Clark says Driscoll is exactly what a team looks for in a leader. "Chris is a professional and team oriented player who is respected by his peers. Along with his commitment to fitness, he's a great role model for the younger players on our team."
Driscoll joins Rock Captain Jim Veltman and fellow Assistant Captain Blaine Manning in this leadership role for the 2007 season.
The Toronto Rock season begins this weekend, Saturday January 13th at 7:35 p.m. in Rochester against the Knighthawks.
