Dayton Gems Sign Forward Mike Olynyk

The Dayton Gems, proud members of the International Hockey League, announced the signing of forward Mike Olynyk to a contract. Olynyk played last season with the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the IHL (joining them for the playoffs) and the Basingstoke Bison of the EIHL with a combined 27 games scoring 6 goals and 3 assists for a total of 9 points and 126 penalty minutes. A native of Sparwood, British Columbia the 6 foot, 197 plays forward and shoots right. He began his career in this league back in the 2005 -06 season with the Quad City Mallards and also spent time with Port Huron.

The Gems are on the road to Fort Wayne this evening to take on the Komets. The puck drops at 730pm and fans can listen live to Gems announcer Tom Michaels on the Gems website: www.daytongems.com

All adult tickets only $10. Student and Childrens tickets $7. Groups are welcome and parking is free.

Each Monday evening join the GemsatFox and Hound in Beavercreekat 9pm as they become Miami Valley Idoljudges.
