Dayton, OH - Dayton Demonz Owner Barry Soskin announced today the hiring of Paul H. Contreras, as the Teams NEW Marketing Director and Director of Business Operations for the 2013-2014 season, along with Mike Clare, Director of Business Development.
Paul comes to the Dayton Demonz Hockey Club after serving as Director of Marketing & Sales and Director of Business Operations for the NAHL Tier II Junior A Hockey League in 2009-2010 season, working for current Demonz owner Barry Soskin in Albert Lea, MN & Traverse City Enforcers 2000-2004. Paul also was Head Coach & GM for the Albert Lea Affiliate team in Tier 3 Junior A in Pittsburgh from 2006-2009 before moving to take control of the marketing dept in Albert Lea, MN. Paul also has worked with the IHL Milwaukee Admirals & Denver Rangers of the defunct IHL professional hockey leagues.
Paul brings 28 years of service as a director of marketing & sales & business operations to the Demonz organization. Paul's main focus this season is to restore the marketing plan for the Demonz and to revive the excitement of hockey promotions in the stands for Dayton hockey fans that have been accustom to that in the past with several pro hockey franchises.
Paul is originally from Denver,Colo.
If you followed the Dayton Demonz at all during their 2012-2013 inaugural season, you've seen a small sampling of Mike's ability capture the spirit of the Demonz. He spent the 2nd half of last season as the Demonz team photographer and also helped manage the team's social media sites. This year, Mike's responsibilities have been expanded to developing corporate sponsorships, marketing and advertising, managing the team's broadcast, print and social media, merchandising and all things pertaining to developing an exciting experience for Demonz fans.
Mike's background as a business owner and Business Development professional over the past 12 years, coupled with his passion for the game, are just what the doctor and team owner Barry Soskin, ordered.
Mike lives in Dayton with his wife, Tracy and their 3 dogs.
The team will also announce a couple of marketing interns here in a few weeks to form the new department for the Demonz.
Demonz fans will see a more exciting In-Game promotions this season along with the Demonz players & staff being more visible in the community, along with promo nights and intermission events planned through the season.
