Dayton Demonz News Release

(Dayton, Ohio) The Dayton Demonz again proved to another Federal Hockey League opponent why it is hard to beat the Demonz at Hara Arena with tonight's 7-2 victory over the Danville Dashers.

Dayton's strong first period proved to be to much for the Danville Dashers, as again the Demonz would take a 4-0 lead into the first intermission.

With the Demonz controlling play in the first 20 minutes, goals by Trevor Karasiewicz, Terry Watt, Jesse Felten and Luke Flicek would be all Dayton would need to pull out the victory. Dayton dominated play in the first frame, controlling the puck and getting many scoring opportunities, which frustrated the visiting Dashers.

In the final 2 minutes of the period the Dashers frustration showed, as they began to play physical, checking Demonz players at every opportunity. Some hits were questionable, but the Demonz maintained their cool without getting lured into any retaliatory penalties.

In the 2nd period the Dashers showed character, as they began to get shots on the Dayton net, and played a more balanced game. Justin Levac would score a power play goal (mid-way) through the period, to put the Dashers on the board for the first goal of the game. A couple of minutes later Luke Flicek's (2nd goal of the evening) deke on the Dasher goaltender, put Dayton back up 4 goals, to make it 5-1.

In the 3rd period Dayton would add 2 goals to Danville's 1 goal. Jesse Felten added his 2nd goal of the game, just 2 minutes into the final period increased Dayton's lead 6-1. Jonathan Juliano would cut the score to 6-2, to close out the scoring for the Dashers. Dayton would take advantage of Danville's undisciplined play, when Ahmed Mahfouz, scored a power play goal in the winding minutes of the game to add insult to injury for Dayton's 7th goal of the game.
