Lancaster JetHawks News Release

LANCASTER, Calif. - J.D. Davis homered in his third straight game for the JetHawks, who amassed a season-high 20 hits to sweep the Lake Elsinore Storm with a 19-2 victory on Sunday night at The Hangar.

Davis went 4-for-5 with a walk and two home runs, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and driving in six runs to become the first player in the California League this season to reach 100 RBI. Alex Bregman extended his hitting streak to 15 games by going 2-for-5. All nine players in the JetHawks (72-61) lineup collected at least one hit and scored at least one run in the game.

Akeem Bostick (5-4) earned the win for Lancaster, allowing just one run on three hits through six innings.

In the bottom of the first inning, a two-run double by Davis against Michael Kelly (0-5) and a Ronnie Mitchell sacrifice fly gave the JetHawks an early 3-0 lead. Davis hit a solo homer in the third before the Storm came within three runs on a Marcus Davis home run in the fourth.

Lancaster chased Kelly from the game after a two-run fourth inning. The right-hander surrendered six runs on seven hits and received the loss for Lake Elsinore.

The JetHawks added three runs in the fifth against relievers Bryan Verbitsky and Kyle Bartsch to extend their lead to 9-1.

After being held scoreless in the sixth, Lancaster rallied for five runs in both the seventh and eighth innings. In the seventh, Davis and Brian Holberton both hit RBI-singles, James Ramsay drew a bases-loaded walk and Bregman added a two-run double. Storm reliever Ricardo Valenzuela gave up a RBI-single to Ramsay in the eighth before Sean McMullen hit a two-run single and Davis connected on a two-run homer to cap the rally.

Jordan Mills tossed a scoreless seventh inning in relief, and Enrique Chavez made his high-A debut for the JetHawks with a scoreless eighth. In the ninth, Andrew Walter yielded a home run to Daniel Bravo and a double to Nick Torres before retiring the next three batters for the win.

The JetHawks return to action on Tuesday to open a three-game series on the road against the Bakersfield Blaze. Both teams' starting pitchers are yet to be determined, and first pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. at Sam Lynn Ballpark.
