DURHAM, N.C. - The Memphis Redbirds continued a six-game road trip at the Durham Bulls (Triple-A, Tampa Bay Rays) with a 7-1 victory at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Memphis jumped in front with a four-run top of the third inning. Left fielder Joshua Báez tied the game at one with an RBI single. Catcher Leo Bernal later added an RBI single of his own in the frame. For insurance, third baseman Nolan Gorman and right fielder Chase Davis both hit a solo home run. Gorman pushed his hot-hitting home run stretch to eight home runs in his last 13 games.

Starting pitcher Quinn Mathews allowed one run on four hits, walked three and struck out five in his second start since his option from St. Louis. Ryan Fernandez, Cade Winquest and Hancel Rincón each tossed a scoreless frame out of the bullpen. The Redbirds have claimed the first two games in the series and lead the season seried 5-3 over Durham.

The Memphis Redbirds return to AutoZone Park on Tuesday, August 18 to begin a six-game homestand against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Triple-A, Miami Marlins) with first pitch scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CDT.
