Daniels Returns to BayHawks

Erie, Pennsylvania, Thursday, November 29 - The Erie BayHawks have added a familiar face to the roster on Thursday, officially acquiring Erik Daniels. To make room on the roster, the BayHawks have released Danny Sumner. Marvin Phillips, Jr. was also released from the team's inactive list.

Daniels (6-8, Kentucky) was originally a first round pick of the BayHawks prior to their inaugural season. He returned to the club during the 2010-11 season and assisted in Erie's playoff push. Daniels returns to the BayHawks second all-time in scoring (1,360) and rebounding (589) and third in assists (262).

Sumner (6-7, William & Mary) was drafted by the BayHawks in the seventh round of the 2012 draft. In his lone appearance with the BayHawks, he recorded two rebounds in four minutes.

Phillips (6-7, Claflin) was acquired in a mid-season trade from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants last season. He averaged 7.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the season. He was placed on the inactive list on November 21.

The BayHawks will begin their home season on Saturday, December 1 against division foe Canton. Opening Night will feature a halftime performance by "Quick Change". Full season tickets, mini plans and groups can be purchased by calling 814-790-5600.
