Daniel Pigott Joins Dragons After Spring Training Injury

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons announced the following roster changes today:

First baseman/outfielder Daniel Pigott has been activated from the disabled list.

Infielder Humberto Valor has been given his unconditional release.

The Dragons roster remains at the Midwest League limit of 25 players.

Pigott suffered an abdominal injury during the final week of spring training and has not played in an official game this season. The former star at the University of Florida spent most of last season with the Dragons, batting .280 with four home runs and 22 RBI in 64 games. Pigott spent four years at Florida and was the MVP of the 2011 Southeastern Conference Tournament. He helped the Gators to the 2012 College World Series and a #3 finish in the tournament. Pigott hit over .300 in three of his four seasons at Florida, finishing with a career batting average of .310. In 102 career Minor League games, Pigott has a batting average of .291.

Valor appeared in nine games for the Dragons this season, going 1 for 28 as a hitter.

The Dragons host Lansing tonight at 7:00 at Fifth Third Field. The series also includes games on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and Monday at 7:00 p.m. Call (937) 228-2287 for ticket information.
