Danbury Signs Nick Deschenes

Today at the Danbury Ice Arena, Danbury Whalers President, Senior Partner, CFO Alan Friedman proudly announced the signing of forward Nick Deschenes. Deschenes, a forward, will also be serving as the Danbury Whalers Assistant Coach.deschenes 0]
A resident of Canmore, Alberta, Deschenes, comes to Danbury with 107 professional goals in 259 games, including 33 games and 5 goals with the Philadelphia Phantoms (American Hockey League) the AAA affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL). Deschenes also played 72 games in the ECHL with the Trenton Titans where he was a member of the 2004-05 Kelly Cup Championship team. In the Titans playoff run, Deschenes was the team's 3rd leading scorer with 16 points (9 goals / 7 assists) in 20 games.
This is the second stop in Connecticut for Deschenes hockey career, as he attended and played hockey for Yale University from 1999-2003. While at Yale, Deschenes - a History major, played in 114 games scoring 36 goals.
Other biographical notes for Deschenes include winning the King of the Klondike Lumberjack competition in Edmonton in 2002, competing in the Canmore Highland Games (stone & weight throwing while in kilt), and taking home a bronze medal in the Calgary Homebrew Beer competition.

Danbury Whalers Head Coach / Director of Hockey Operations, Phil Esposito stated, "To add a player like Nick to our organization is a major piece. Nick has been a part of 3-championships and will bring so much to our organization on the coaching end as well."

TK's American Café to Host Danbury Whalers Opening Night Post Game Party
New this year is Hockey Night at TK's with the Danbury Whalers
Today at the Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, Connecticut, Danbury Whalers and Tom Kennedy, Owner & Operator of TK's America Cafe, announced that following the Danbury Whalers Opening Night game on Thursday, October 27th, the Official Danbury Whalers Post Game Party will be held at TK's American Café on 255 White Street in Danbury.
All members of the organization including players, staff, and management will head to TK's for the event. The party is open to the public and they are encouraged to attend.
The two organizations have also partnered up on a new promotion this year - Hockey Night at TK's. On four Wednesday's this season (11/9, 12/28, 1/11, & 2/1) fans are invited to TK's to watch an NHL hockey game with the Danbury Whalers players. Fans and Whalers players will participate in a fantasy hockey challenge with the winning fan will receive a prize package which includes a suite night at a Whalers game and gift certificates from TK's.
Standings for the participants in the Hockey Night at TK's challenge will be posted on the Danbury Whalers website. Fans will be asked to select a lineup of players from that night's game. The players will compile points through goals, assists, shots, & penalty minutes. There will be a nightly winner as well as the season long Grand Prize winner.

Wednesday, November 9th - Rangers @ Senators
Wednesday, December 28th - Rangers @ Capitals
Wednesday, January 11th - Penguins @ Capitals
Wednesday, February 1st - Rangers @ Sabres

The club currently offers three different type of season ticket plans. The full season at $370, half season at $195, and the 5-pack for $65.
Individual tickets are $15 for adults and kids under 10 years old are $10.

The Danbury Whalers & 1st & 10 Sports Bar and Grill in New Milford are proud to announce a promotion in which one Danbury Whalers fan will win an airline ticket and seven nights of hotel lodging to Hawaii.first and ten.

Danbury Whalers Bus Trip

Sets Up Happy Hour and a Half
The Danbury Whalers have announced there will be fan bus trip for the first road game of the season on Friday, October 28th. In that game, the Whalers take on the New Jersey Outlaws at the Ice Vault in Wayne, New Jersey. Gametime is set for 7:35.
The bus will be leaving Friday afternoon from 1st & 10 Sports Bar & Grill in New Milford. As part of the package fans will receive transportation to the game, a game ticket, and a special Happy Hour & a Half at 1st & 10 Sports Bar & Grill. Total cost is $55.bus2
Departure time has not yet been finalized but is anticipated between 3-3:30 pm.
