Whalers & Westerners Set for July 12 @ 6:30 PM

For the third consecutive season, the Danbury Whalers and Danbury Westerners will honor each other's organization at a home game. On Thursday, July 12th at 6:30 PM at Rogers Park in Danbury, when the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) take on the Laconia Muskrats, it will be Danbury Whalers Night at the park.

As part of the night, the Westerners will warm up in a specially designed Whalers & Westerners batting practice top which will later be auctioned off. The night is part of a continuing partnership where the Danbury Westerners and Danbury Whalers work towards promoting each other's season for the overall development of the Danbury sports landscape.

Throughout the night there will be prizes, contests, trivia, Danbury Whalers contest sign-ups, and the ceremonial first pitch will be thrown out by member of the Danbury Whalers organization.

Whalers CEO/Managing Partner, Herm Sorcher stated, "I can't say enough good things about the Westerners. It is a great entertainment option for families as well as diehard baseball fans. I have probably been to 15 games over the last 2 years and it is awesome every time. I would love to see our Whalers fans make it out to the park this night and check these guys out. It's Field of Dreams and Bull Durham rolled into one."

Commented Westerners, President, Paul Schaeffer, "Whalers Night has become a fixture on the Westerners schedule. We are both proud members of this community and look forward to working together for a long time. Espo had a pretty good ceremonial first pitch last year. We might need him to get loose if we are short some arms."

Tickets for the event are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and kids under 12 are free.
