Danbury players suspended, Wagner banned from UHL

February 25, 2005 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) News Release


LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO -- United Hockey League (UHL) Vice President of Hockey Operations Brad Jones announced today the following suspensions resulting from UHL Game #401, Adirondack @ Danbury, Wednesday, February 23, 2005.

Danbury right wing Chad Wagner is prohibited from participating in any future play in the United Hockey League. Danbury defenseman Dave MacIsaac has been suspended for the remainder of the 2004-05 season and playoffs under Rule 43 as a result of the match penalty issued during this game. Mr. MacIsaac's suspension will commence with UHL Game #405 on Friday, February 25, 2005 versus Elmira and shall continue through UHL Game #558 on April 10, 2005 versus Port Huron.

Danbury forward Gerry Hickey has been issued a ten (10) game suspension under Rule 72(b) and 72(g) as a result of leaving the penalty box. Mr. Hickey's suspension will commence with UHL Game #405 on February 25, 2005 versus Elmira and shall continue through UHL Game #476 on Saturday, March 19, 2005 versus Elmira. Mr. Hickey may resume playing beginning with UHL Game #489 on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 versus Richmond.

Danbury forward Jon Mirasty has been issued a five (5) game suspension under Rule 72(b) and 72(d) as a result of leaving the penalty box. Mr. Mirasty's suspension will commence with UHL Game #405 on February 25, 2005 versus Elmira and shall continue through UHL Game #430 on Friday, March 4, 2005 versus Richmond. Mr. Mirasty may resume playing beginning with UHL Game #430 on Saturday, March 5, 2005 versus Richmond.

"The suspensions issued today strongly affirm the League's position on player misconduct. Those who violate the rules and regulations set forth by the League are deserving of the consequences rendered," stated Vice President of Hockey Operations Brad Jones.

"The actions of Mr. Wagner and Mr. MacIsaac are unacceptable. The safety and welfare of our players is primary – I will not allow that to be compromised," stated UHL President/CEO Richard Brosal.
