"Sudsy and I go back to the Aeros days in the IHL," Ruskowski said. "He is a terrific guy and a great equipment manager. We have a local guy here helping out right now while our equipment manager is traveling down to Laredo. Sudsy agreed to do us a favor and come down and help out thru training camp."
This is Sumner's fourth year working with the Stars and he has just been promoted to the head equipment manager position.
"I am here to help Terry out as a favor," said Sumner. "I am going to enjoy myself while I am here. I have been impressed with the facility and the support the Bucks have. The LEC is one of the best minor league buildings I've ever seen."
Sumner began working in hockey with the AHL Adirondack Red Wings in 1988. He worked in the CHL with the Fort Worth Fire from 1992-94, then moved to the Dallas Freeze during the 1994-95 CHL season.
Sumner then joined the St Louis Blues for the remainder of the 1994-95 NHL season. After that he went to Houston where he spent five seasons with the Aeros. He joined the Stars in 2000. Sumner will assist the Bucks thru Monday.
