Published on January 28, 2013 under NBA G League (G League) News Release
NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2013 - The Dallas Mavericks have re-assigned rookie guard Jared Cunningham to the Texas Legends, the Mavericks' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the record 117th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons, while Cunningham is one of a record 50 NBA players to have been assigned this season.
Cunningham (6-4, 195, Oregon State) returns to the Legends following an assignment earlier in the season when he played in seven games, and averaged 18.1 points, 3.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 37.0 minutes.
In eight games for the Mavericks this season, Cunningham is averaging 2.0 points in 3.3 minutes per game. Originally selected in the first round (24th overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cunningham's rights were traded on Draft Night to the Mavericks.
Cunningham is expected to be available on Friday, Feb. 1, when the team hosts the Santa Cruz Warriors.
Dallas Mavericks fans can follow Cunningham during his time with the Legends on NBADLeague.com powered by YouTube to watch all of the team's games live, online, for free.
