BayHawks Fall to Tulsa, 105-95

Erie, Pennsylvania, Monday, January 28 - The Erie BayHawks welcomed the Tulsa 66ers to Erie Insurance Arena for the first time in two seasons on Monday night. Andy Rautins connected on eight three-point shots to help the 66ers down the BayHawks by a final score of 105-95.

Erie (13-11) took it's only lead of the game when Cory Higgins connected on a jump shot to start the scoring. Tulsa leaned heavily on Rautins as the team shot 63.2% from the field during the first quarter and took a 30-17 lead into the second. It was Rautins' hot shooting again the second quarter that helped Tulsa gain a 58-48 advantage at the break. Rautins led all scorers with 22 points while the BayHawks were paced by D.J. Kennedy's 11 first half points.

The third quarter was no different as the 66ers extended their lead to 16 heading into the final stanza. With a Tony Taylor lay-up with 9:39 remaining, Tulsa held a 23 point lead, it's largest of the game. The BayHawks were able to battle back but their comeback efforts came up short as they fell by a final score of 105-95.

Kennedy led the BayHawks with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Henry Sims (18 points and 10 rebounds), Higgins (17), Erik Daniels (13) and Tirrell Baines (11) also pitched in with double-figure efforts. Rautins finished with 28 for Tulsa while four other 66ers scored at least 11 points.

The BayHawks will travel to Canton to face the Charge while the 66ers will head to Springfield to square off against the Armor on Wednesday night. Erie returns home on Wednesday, February 6 for their annual School Kids Jam game, which will tip-off against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 11:00 AM.
