
Dallas Marshals Signs 2016 CIF INT Leader

MESQUITE, Texas. The Marshals has signed the 2016 CIF interceptions leader Defensive back Anthony Webb to their 2017 CIF roster. Webb will take one of 35 spots at the Dallas Marshals 2017 training camp in February.
Webb (DB, 6' 190 Kansas University) joins the Marshals for his second season as a member of the CIF. Webb finished his 2016 CIF season playing in 10 games, had 44 total tackles, 14 pass break-ups and a league leading 9 INT's for a 122 yards. Webb is a native of Dallas graduating from South Oak Cliff High. He was also an honorable-mention all-state selection as a senior. Is No. 22 on the Dallas Morning News list of top 100 area recruits. Named preseason first-team All-Texas (all classes) by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine as a defensive back. Led the state of Texas in interceptions in 2005, named South Oak Cliffs Special Teams Player of the Year, A first-team all-state and all-district performer at Wilmer-Hutchins High School as a junior and listed among the top 40 recruits in the state of Texas by Rivals.com.
Webb than attended Kansas University Freshman All-Big 12 (TSN) (2006) 2006 (Fr.): Named to the Freshman All-Big 12 team by The Sporting News... Played in all 12 games and started the last nine contests of the season... Ended the year with 42 total tackles including 35 solo stops... Finished second on the team with three interceptions and six pass break-ups... Recovered one fumble... Collected a season-best 10 tackles against Texas A&M... Had a pair of interceptions in KU win over Kansas State.
