
Daley named to USL First Division Team of the Week

Charleston, SC. Charleston Battery midfielder Omar Daley has been named to the USL First Division Team of the Week following his injury-time game-winning strike last Wednesday in Montreal. Daley scored in the 90th minute as the Battery defeated the Montreal Impact by a score of one goal to none; it was the Impacts first home loss of the 2006 campaign.
Daley, 25, is in his first year with the Charleston Battery; he has scored 3 goals and added 4 assists in 23 games played. Daley is a current member of the Jamaican men's national team; he has been capped 22 times and scored nine international goals.
The Charleston Battery returns to action on Thursday, August 31 with a road match versus the Vancouver Whitecaps; kick off is set for 10 PM (CNN 1450AM). The Battery's next home game is on Sunday September 10 at Blackbaud Stadium versus the powerhouse Rochester Raging Rhinos; kick off is set for 6:00 PM ($8 - $15, 971-GOAL / www.charlestonbattery.com).
