D\'Orazio Signs With AFL Buffalo Destroyers

(Rochester, N.Y.)-Rochester Brigade head coach Mark Saunders announced that quarterback Matt D'Orazio has signed with the Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League (AFL) as a member of their practice squad.

D'Orazio was signed to the practice squad after Destroyers' starting quarterback Jeff Loots was injured last week. D'Orazio will fill in on the practice squad until Loots returns from his injury.

Last season D'Orazio led the Brigade to their first ever playoff appearance, completing 324 passes off of 522 attempts for 3,372 and 51 touchdowns. He led the team in rushing, and was fourth in the league, with 86 rushes for 332 yards and 20 touchdowns. On June 29, 2002, against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers D'Orazio tied the league record with five rushing touchdowns in a single game. He was also sixth in the league in total offense with 3,704 yards.

In two seasons of the af2 D'Orazio has played and started in 26 games with both the Roanoke Steam and the Rochester Brigade, completing 418 passes out of 675 attempts for 4,570 yards and 69 touchdowns. He has also rushed the ball 123 times for 359 yards and 21 scores. D'Orazio has also spent time in the AFL with the Milwaukee Mustangs and the New Jersey Gladiators.
