THURSDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHTS...top performers from Thursday's games
v Ian Mahinmi, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, led all scorers with 29 points, shooting 13-of-16 (.813) from the field while Toros teammates fresh from stints on the Spurs DerMarr Johnson and Keith Langford each finished with 25 points in the win for Austin.
v Tulsa's Nick Fazekas, on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks, recorded a 32-point, 18-rebound double-double in the 66ers two-point overtime victory over Colorado.
D-LEAGUE SHOWCASE TIPS OFF MONDAY: The fourth annual D-League Showcase will be held in Boise, Idaho on the Stampede's home court of Qwest Arena on January 14-17, 2008. The Stampede will host all 14 D-League teams, who, along with general managers, player personnel and scouts from each of the 30 NBA teams will come together for 14 games over four days to highlight the league's talent. RICHARDSON TO SPURS: Fort Wayne's Jeremy Richardson earned his second GATORADE Call-Up, and the 11th of the season, when he signed with the San Antonio Spurs yesterday. Previously, Richardson was called-up by the Memphis Grizzlies between Dec. 20 and Jan. 7. During his first call-up, Richardson appeared in three games for the Grizzlies and averaged 4.7 minutes per game. Prior to his run with the Grizzlies, Richardson was averaging a D-League high 28.5 points, to go with 6.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 41.5 minutes during eight games with the Mad Ants.
