SAMB AND GREEN TO MAD ANTS AND STAMPEDE: The Detroit Pistons and Portland Trail Blazers sent respective rookies, Cheikh Samb and Taurean Green, to their D-League affiliates in Fort Wayne and Idaho on Monday. Green, a second round selection (52nd overall) in the 2007 NBA Draft, has appeared in four games for Portland this season and averaged 2.3 points and 1.3 assists in 6.0 minutes per game while Samb, a rookie center for Detroit is averaging 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 10.5 minutes in two games as a Piston.
HOLLYWOOD IN AUSTIN: San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker and his wife Desperate Housewife's Eva Longoria Parker, were spotted cheering on his Spurs teammates Darius Washington and Ian Mahinmi as they took to the hardwood on assignment with the Toros over the weekend. Washington put on a show for his teammate scoring a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. CALL-UP UPDATE: Eddie Gill and Jelani McCoy, the two GATORADE Call-Ups of the 2007-08 season, have played in a combined 16 games in the NBA this season with the New Jersey Nets and Denver Nuggets, respectively. Gill, who has played in 13 games and was a starter in one, is averaging 2.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 11.5 minutes per game, while McCoy has seen action in three games for Denver and is averaging 1.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.3 points in 4.0 minutes per game.
