STAYING IN PHILLY: The Philadelphia 76ers signed former Colorado 14ers forward Louis Amundson for the remainder of the season. Amundson signed two 10-day contracts with the Sixers (March 8 and March 18) and has made two appearances with the Sixers this season, logging three rebounds in nine minutes.

CAVS RECALL JONES: The Cleveland Cavaliers have recalled F/C Dwayne Jones from Albuquerque. In two games with the T-Birds Jones averaged 40.5 minutes, 11.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. Of 23 NBA players assigned this season, five are currently on D-League rosters: Patrick O'Bryant (Warriors) with Bakersfield, Amir Johnson (Pistons) and Will Blalock (Pistons) with Sioux Falls, Marcus Vinicius (Hornets) with Tulsa and Mile Ilic (Nets) with Colorado.

IOWA NAMES NURSE: The D-League expansion team in Iowa named Nick Nurse as head coach and Gary Garner as assistant on Tuesday. Nurse played professional basketball in Europe and coached for 11 seasons in Italy, England and Belgium. Garner is a long-time college head coach, including stops at Drake and Southeast Missouri State.

THEY SAID IT: "We will have two priorities. Winning basketball games and helping players to improve so they can make the step into the NBA. If you work hard at the second priority, the first priority takes care of itself." ... Nick Nurse told the Des Moines Register after being named head coach for the expansion D-League team in Des Moines, Iowa on Tuesday.

SCOOTER SHOW: Scooter McFadgon of Bakersfield was named the D-LEAGUE.com Performer of the Week for games played March 19-25. McFadgon shot his way into the league record books on March 21 by converting a single-game record 22 free-throws on his way to scoring 48 points in a win over Colorado. For the week, McFadgon averaged 29.7 points while shooting .571 (28-49) from the field and .892 (33-37) from the free-throw line.
