HELPING HAND: Tulsa point guard Will Conroy has dished out 101 assists over his last seven games (14.4 pg) to take over the league lead at 10.4 per game. He recorded his record fourth D-League career triple-double against Colorado on Saturday, scoring 21, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out 15 assists.
SHOWCASE BEGINS MONDAY: The annual NBA D-League MLK Showcase, featuring 12 games in three days, runs Jan. 15-17 at the Sioux Falls Arena. Two sessions of two games each begin at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. central time each day. Games 2 and 4 of each day will tip off 25 minutes following the conclusion of the previous game. NBA TV will televise all 12 games from the Showcase, 10 live. Game coverage begins at noon ET each day.
WHO'S HOT? The Idaho Stampede has won seven straight and 12 of the last 14 games. Dakota is on a six-game winning streak and has won 10 of its last 12. After a 0-12 start, Austin has won five of its last seven games
WHO'S NOT? The Arkansas RimRockers have lost 10 consecutive games. The league record for consecutive losses is 12, set earlier this season by the Austin Toros. Bakersfield is on a six-game losing skid.
THEY SAID IT: "Obviously, I'd like to be in the NBA. The way I look at it, this is a different route. A lot of people don't get this kind of opportunity. I have to try to take advantage of it." ... Bakersfield guard Gerry McNamara told the Scranton Times-Tribune about playing in the NBA D-League.
