D-League daily developments

January 2, 2006 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I see a lot of other guys who haven't played at all, just practicing and sitting on the bench during games. Getting that experience down there made me a better player. Of course, everybody wants to be up here in the NBA, but you have to look hard at your future. That will help me in the long run."... Minnesota Timberwolves forward Dwayne Jones told the Fort Myers News-Press about his 10-game assignment to the Florida Flame of the NBA D-League.

GOING BACK: Austin coach Dennis Johnson returns to Germain Arena to face league-leading Florida on Tuesday. Johnson was the coach of the Flame last year. The Toros and Flame have already split a pair of games in Austin.

GOING AWAY: After playing 11 of the first 15 games at home, the Roanoke Dazzle plays just five home games over a 49-day span through mid-February.

LINE DANCING: Roanoke forward Isiah Victor leads the league in trips to the free throw line with 123 and total free throws made with 96.

ABOVE NORM(AL): Fayetteville's Norm Richardson has the hottest hand in the league from three-point range, having converted seven of his last 10 attempts.
