THE BULL RING: After opening with a 113-111 road victory at Arkansas on Friday, the Austin Toros finally open the home portion of their schedule tonight when the Fayetteville Patriots visit the "Bull Ring" at the Austin Convention Center. Home teams are 7-3 up to this point in the young season.

HOT HANDS: Several players around the D-League had the hot hand from the field on Friday. Fort Worth guard Derrick Zimmerman connected on 9-of-10 from the floor and Arkansas guard Clay Tucker hit 10-of-12 in the same game. John Lucas of Tulsa, Brandon Dean of Arkansas and Pape Sow of Arkansas all converted 7-of-10 field goal attempts.

RINGING THE BELL: D-League teams were scoring at a rapid pace on Friday, with all eight teams combining to average 103.1 points. Five of the eight topped the century mark.

LEARNING FROM EXPERIENCE: Eight of 16 D-League coaches are able to offer first-hand experience to their charges about what it takes to play in the NBA. Michael Cooper (Albuquerque), Larry Smith (Albuquerque), Dennis Johnson (Austin), Mike Brown (Fayetteville), Jeff Malone (Florida), Sam Vincent (Fort Worth), Chucky Brown (Roanoke) and Roy Rogers (Tulsa) have a combined 85 years of NBA playing experience and lessons to pass along.

GROWTH SPURT: Fayetteville post player Robb Dryden was 6-foot-2 when he entered Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, Fla. and 7-foot-1 when he graduated.

ALL AROUND ATHLETE: Tulsa forward Otis George not only played in an NCAA Final Four at Louisville, but he was also a member of the Dominican National Volleyball and Soccer Teams.

QUIZ ANSWER: There have been seven players from Fresno State in the D-League, including current Florida center Hiram Fuller.
