Washington, D.C. (April 3, 2012) - D.C. United's U-18 and U-16 teams continued USSDA play last weekend, facing Mid-Atlantic Division rivals Baltimore Bays Chelsea.

United's U-16's kept a clean sheet on Saturday, March 31, earning a scoreless draw against Baltimore Bays. In an evenly contested match, defender Steven Gandy and goalkeeper Carlos Canas delivered solid performances to keep the shutout.

"It was a quality Division match where the two neighboring groups showed up to play an intense match," said U-16 Head Coach Tom Torres. "Our possession and tempo was impressive, which is a testament to the hard work our players put in at training."

United's U-18's were unable to score and fell 0-2 to Baltimore Bays on Saturday, March 31.

U.S. Soccer announced yesterday that United U-18 midfielder Collin Martin was called into the upcoming U.S. U-20 National Team training camp. The team, led by former Major League Soccer veteran Tab Ramos, will train from April 9-16 in Portland, Ore. ahead of Thursday and Sunday matchups.

Martin has been a regular in the midfield with the D.C. United Academy U-16 team since joining three years ago. Last week, Martin, a midfielder from Bethesda, Maryland, committed to play his collegiate soccer for Wake Forest University.
