Cyclones Sign Core Roster

Columbus, Ohio- Dave Cecutti, Columbus Cyclones' head basketball coach announced the signing of seven players to the Cyclones organization. The group will be part of the initial roster for the 2006 IBL professional basketball season.
The group signed by the Cyclones includes 2 players who played for the Dayton Jets of the IBL in 2005, Michael Brownlee and Shaun Fountain. Frank Gojcac who also signed with the Cyclones, played last year in the IBL with the Macomb County Mustangs. Paul Haynes, played this past year in the American Basketball Association for the Detroit Wheels.
The three remaining players signed by the Cyclones all have Central Ohio ties either having played high school or collegiate basketball locally; Charles Warren (Whitehall High School, University of Findlay), DeAndre Walker (Firestone High School, Columbus State) and Shun Jenkins (The Ohio State University).
"We are excited about the individuals who have decided to become a part of the Columbus Cyclones basketball organization." said Coach Cecutti, "We feel this group will give us a solid foundation upon which to build our roster for 2006. The basketball make-up of these players gives us good quality experience to compete at a high level of professional basketball."
"I am thrilled with the players we signed. Columbus has a wealth of talent and a lot of them showed interest in the Cyclones. We will have an exciting season for sure", commented team owner, Charlie Mitchell.
The Columbus Cyclones professional basketball team of the International Basketball League will play twenty home games in the 2006 IBL season, their first of ten home games will be Saturday April 8th at 7:15pm against the West Virginia Wild. Westerville North High School will be the Cyclones' home venue for the 2006 season.
