Crystal Palace Baltimore News Release

Baltimore, Md. - This Saturday, September 11, Palace Baltimore play host to the MLS-bound Vancouver Whitecaps in an inter-NASL conference matchup at the Paul Angelo Russo Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. The last time the teams faced one another it finished in a goalless stalemate at Swanguard Stadium in Vancouver.

Saturday also marks SillyBandz Night with the first 1,000 kids receiving a pack of collector's item Palace Baltimore wrist bands. For tickets or more information visit www.palacebaltimore.com, or call 410.933.8326.

With four games remaining in the 2010 regular season, three of which are at home, Baltimore's playoff hopes hinge on their ability to reverse their fortunes at home, starting with this weekend's fixture against the conference-leading Whitecaps. Palace Baltimore, whose home record stands at 2-8-2, have won twice as many games on the road (4) as they have at home this year.

"I think it's been tough for the guys this year to play in front of 10,000 and 12,000 fans on the road and then come home to crowds of 1,000 or so," said Palace Baltimore President, Pete Medd. "We really hope soccer fans in this area will come out to support the guys and we can finish the season on a positive note by winning our home games and getting into the playoffs."

Despite their record and league standing, Palace Baltimore is not out of playoff contention. With four games left in the regular season, they are only four points out of the last playoff spot. A win against the Vancouver Whitecaps will give Palace three invaluable points, but more importantly will prove that they are capable of competing with the best teams in the league.

Palace Baltimore's following game is a home game against the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday, September 18 at 5 p.m. in the Paul Angelo Russo Stadium. Palace Baltimore fans can watch both games via live streaming feed by logging onto live.palacebaltimore.com a few minutes before kick off.
