Crush waive three players, sign ex-Chiefs lineman

DENVER - The Colorado Crush have waived former University of Colorado star Ben Kelly, former Colorado State and Denver Bronco Frank Rice, and OL/DL Nate Bolling, the team announced today. The team also signed former Kansas City Chief lineman Tank Reese. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Kelly (5-10, 195 lbs.) a WR/DB, played last year with the Los Angeles Avengers after a three-year career in the NFL. He was signed by the Crush as a free agent with training camp already underway on January 11. WR/DB Rice (6-0, 180 lbs.) and OL/DL Bolling (6-4, 275, Wake Forest) were both rookie free agents signed on December 22 and 13 respectively. All three players participated in the scrimmage at Las Vegas on January 12.

Reese (5-11, 294 lbs.) was an All-Big 12 defensive tackle at Kansas State who was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chiefs in 2003, spending time on the team's practice squad. Following his release, Reese was then signed by the Indianapolis Colts and was allocated to NFL Europe for the 2004 season. There Reese helped guide the Berlin Thunder to a World Bowl XII victory.

The Crush roster now stands at 34 players, but the roster must be trimmed to 24 by January 24 to start the season.
