BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - After going down by two in the first period, the Syracuse Crunch put up five unanswered goals for a 5-2 comeback victory over the Binghamton Devils to build up an eight-game winning streak tonight at the Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.

Anthony Cirelli led the way with two goals and an assist, while Mathieu Joseph also tallied a three-point night with a goal and two helpers. The win improves Syracuse to 12-9-1-2 on the season and 1-1 in the 10-game season series against Binghamton.

Louis Domingue continued his success in net for the Crunch, turning aside 21-of-23 in his sixth consecutive win. Mackenzie Blackwood made 18 saves for the Devils. Syracuse converted on 1-of-2 power play opportunities and went a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Devils were first on the board just 57 seconds into the game. John Quenneville gained control of a rebound in the crease and sent a feed over for Tim Kennedy at the right wing. Nathan Bastian tipped the backdoor shot to open scoring.

Binghamton made it a two-goal lead late in the first period when Bastian redirected Michael Kapla's shot from the blue line. Josh Jacobs was credited with the secondary helper.

With eight seconds remaining in the opening frame, the Crunch cut the lead in half. Joseph got a stick on the puck and trickled it across the goal line during a pile-up in front of Blackwood. Ben Thomas and Mat Bodie earned the assists.

Syracuse dominated the second period, netting four goals to steal a 5-2 lead. Tic-tac-toe passing from Bodie and Adam Erne moved the puck quickly from the point, down to the goal line and across the slot for Carter Verhaeghe to send home from the left circle while on the power play 3:09 into the stanza. Less than two minutes later, the Crunch scored right off the faceoff. Cirelli won the draw in the right circle and kicked the puck out for Dominik Masin. Alex Gallant tipped the defenseman's shot from the top of the circle for his first with the Crunch.

Cirelli potted back-to-back goals beginning at the 7:35 mark. Joseph fired a wrister from the right wing that was block up and out into the slot. Cirelli batted the rebound in off one bounce. Jamie McBain recorded the helper. With 2:41 remaining in the second, Joseph won a battle at the end boards and backhanded a centering feed for Cirelli to one-time for his fifth of the season.

The Crunch held off the Devils through the third period to continue their winning streak.

Syracuse travels to face the Belleville Senators tomorrow at 7 p.m.
