
Cronin resigns with Chill, announces retirement after 2006 season

Katie Cronin announced today that she will be back for her third and final season with the Colorado Chill of the National Women's Basketball League (NWBL).
"I am excited to be back for another season, but also very happy and at peace that this is the end, and the start of new ventures for me," says Cronin.
She helped the Chill to win the NWBL Championships last season while averaging 14 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She was the Chill 2004 MVP averaging 11.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game.Katie is also a two time NWBL All Star and won the 3-point contest at the All Star game. She started and played in every game of her college career at CSU, where she helped lead them to three NCAA tournament appearances.
Katie's participation in the Chill organization was instrumental in initial decisions and continues in that role through the evolution of the team. Katie played a key role in the 2004 inaugural roster.
"Katie Cronin has energized the Northern Colorado women's basketball fan base for nearly a decade. It is emotional to realize that this will be the last season to watch Katie's passion for basketball displayed on the court. I am honored to Coach Katie in her final season", says Coach Kelly Packard.
The Colorado Chill season will run from February through the end of March. The Chill is a part of the five team NWBL league and play their home games at the Budweiser Events Center.
