Crew to offer all-new Crew Boom

(COLUMBUS, Ohio – Wednesday, June 23) – Red, White & BOOM!, the largest Independence Day fireworks display in the Midwest, is bringing the excitement of the Fourth of July holiday to Columbus Crew Stadium with the first ever Crew BOOM! The event will be held Friday, July 2, from 6 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Admission is free; parking is $10 per car.

"Crew BOOM! offers families a convenient location for viewing the Red, White & BOOM! fireworks display, as well as a variety of entertainment options," said Mark McCullers, Interim General Manager of the Columbus Crew.

There will be an autograph and photograph session with select Crew players and a "Crew Soccer Skills Challenge" on the field. Live entertainment will be headlined by Red Wanting Blue and special Crew BOOM! fireworks.

Red, White & BOOM! fireworks can be seen from a majority of the stadium. The NBC4 broadcast will appear live on Crew Stadium's scoreboard with the accompanying WNCI soundtrack. Food and beverage stands will be open throughout the stadium.

"We're extremely excited about the addition of Crew BOOM! for the 2004 Red, White & BOOM!," said Mike Collins, Executive Director of Red, White & BOOM!. "It's a great way to ensure that thousands of families can enjoy BOOM! in a unique venue."

Red, White & BOOM! 2004 is presented by NBC4, WNCI, Pepsi and Meijer. More than 500,000 people are expected to participate in Red, White and BOOM! on July 2. The daylong event includes unique, family-oriented entertainment at Children's Park, Taste of BOOM!, Bicentennial Park and Brewery BOOM! Fans can also return to Crew Stadium on Saturday, July 3, when The Crew takes on Eastern Conference rival, the Chicago Fire, at 7:30 p.m.
