Crew Stadium Scoreboard and Videoboard Fully Functional Again
Published on May 1, 2013 under Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS - Following visits from the local authorities in the past two days -- including word from the Columbus Division of Fire on Monday, April 29 that the scoreboard fire on the south side of Crew Stadium on Saturday, April 27 was electrical in nature -- the Columbus Crew has additional updates on the status of the scoreboard and videoboard ahead of the Black & Gold's nationally televised match against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, May 4 (4:00 p.m. ET / NBC Sports Network).
The scoreboard and videoboard are currently functioning normally as the timing and video systems are anticipated to act as normal for the upcoming match.
Crew Stadium has rented a line array speaker system for the next two matches - against New York on Saturday and against Colorado on May 11 (7:30 p.m. ET). This set-up will be fully functional with all of Crew Stadium's entertainment and public address systems. The speakers will hang from the stage, identical to how fans see audio hanging at Crew Stadium concerts. The Crew is currently in talks with multiple reputable audio companies across the nation to find a long-term solution.
No seating sections will be affected this weekend. Tickets are available for Saturday's Eastern Conference clash at Crew Stadium by visiting TheCrew.com/May4.
