
Coyotes add a pair of lineman

FRESNO â The Central Valley Coyotes of the arenafootball2 league have been assigned offensive/defensive lineman Nathan Frowsing and offensive/defensive lineman Oscar Grajeda, the team announced today.
Frowsing (6-2, 310 pounds) will return to Central Valley for a second year. In his rookie season, Frowsing was a key member of the Coyote's front line while starting in 15 games. In addition to being an outstanding blocker, he accumulated 24 tackles and two sacks on defense.
Before playing arena football, Frowsing was a standout offensive lineman at Saint Mary's College of California. The four-year letterman started in the final 34 games of his collegiate career. In 2000, Frowsing was part of an offensive line that led St. Mary's to a school record 3,404 yards rushing and school record 4,778 total yards. In his senior season, Frowsing helped anchor an offensive line that propelled the Gales to 264.0 rushing yards per game, which was fourth in the nation.
Frowsing racked in numerous awards while at St. Mary's including three-straight first team Academic All-American honors (2000-02), two-straight first team All-Independent League honors (2001-02), first team I-AA Western Region All-American honors (2002), and first team Don Hansen All-American honors (2002).
Born on December 2, 1980, Frowsing is a native of Madera, Calif. where he attended Sierra High School and lettered in football, wrestling and track.
Grajeda (6-2, 290 pounds), who will be entering his fifth year in the league, will rejoin a franchise he was a part of for two seasons when he played for the Bakersfield Blitz (2002-03). Before joining the Blitz, he played with the af2's Rochester Brigade for 10 games and spent last season with the San Diego Riptide. In five seasons, the veteran has played in 37 games while recording 38 tackles and three sacks.
Born on September 15, 1978, Grejeda Resides in Vallejo, Calif. He attended St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) where he earned conference Player of the Year honors in 1999.
The Coyotes will kick off their 2005 af2 season with an exhibition game at Selland Arena on March 27. The regular season starts on the road in Bakersfield on April 2. Fifty dollar deposits for 2005 Coyote season tickets, which include all nine games played at Selland Arena, are now being accepted at 559-263-9780.
