Countdown to Face-Off

It will be a pivotal game four tonight at the Germain Arena, as the Kalamazoo Wings battle the Florida Everblades in the Eastern Conference Finals. The K-Wings lost last night 7-0 and now trail the best-of-seven series two games to one.

Held scoreless in a game during the regular season only once, the K-Wings have now been shutout in two of the three games in this series. Though three games of the conference finals, Kalamazoo has been outscored 11-3.

So far in the postseason, the Everblades have been unstoppable at the Germain Arena. Florida hits the ice looking to extend a six-game home playoff winning streak and an eight-game overall home win streak that dates back to the regular season. Since February 15th, the Everblades are 16-1-0-1 at home.

Entering game four, the K-Wings have had their problems scoring against the Everblades. Kalamazoo has been held scoreless in eight of the nine periods they have played against Florida.

Forward Dustin Cloutier leads all ECHL rookies in shooting percentage at 25%. In 11 postseason games, Cloutier has scored on four of his 16 shots.

Finishing Strong

So far in the playoffs, the K-Wings have outscored their opponents 17-10. The 17 goals are the most scored in the third period by any team in the ECHL playoffs.
