California Cougars News Release
Cougars Finish Strong at Home Opener, But Fall Short
The California Cougars kicked off the home opener and two-game home stand against the defending PASL champion San Diego Sockers. In end, the defending champs proved to be too much for the rebuilding Cougars, winning the game by a score of 10-6.
The Cougars got off to a sluggish start falling behind 4-0 to start the game. It took some time, but the team found a tempo very late in the game. Down 9-3 at the beginning of the fourth, the Cougars found a pace, scoring three straight goals in a matter of four minutes. Tracy resident and third year player Uriel Robledo scored one of the three goals. Robledo ended the game with a noteworthy two goals and an assist. In what many could call a learning experience for the Cougar rookies, a prospective offensive explosiveness seems to be on the horizon for this young team.
Former Cougar Aaron Susi, once again suiting up against his former team, matched Robeldo's effort, also leading his team with two goals and an assist of his own.
Next, the Cougars host Revolucion Tijuana on Friday, November 19, in what will serve as the season opener for the Revolucion.
