Cougars grab first win of the season!
The California Cougars grabbed their first win of the year in a thrilling overtime 8-7 victory against Top Notch FC of San Jose.
The Cougars win was fueled by the leadership of veterans Chris Handsor and Nelson Santana. Handsor and Santana were responsible for five or the Cougars seven goals. Not only did Handsor's final goal serve as a score equalizer in the last quarter of play, but it also marked a hat trick for the crafty veteran. Top Notch FC's Enrique Tover also finished with a hat trick as well.
Next the Cougars take their momentum on the road. On Friday at 7pm the Cougars will face the Kitsap Pumas (2-1), and on Saturday at 7pm they face the Tacoma Stars (2-2).
California Cougars to partner with Sacramento King's big man, Samuel Dalembert!
Tomorrow, Thursday December 9, Cougars Head Coach Antonio Sutton and Forward Chris Handsor will participate in an autograph signing/ bookfair with Sacramento Kings Center Samuel Dalembert. The event will be held at the Barnes & Noble located inside the Weberstown Mall and will start at 6pm. All proceeds will support the Dalembert Foundation and their goal to build and stock a library in Dalembert's home of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, which was devastated by last year's catastrophic earthquake.
