PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Cougars Hockey Club is proud to announce the signing of 2003-born defenceman Ethan Samson to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

The Cougars selected Samson in the third-round, 65th overall, in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

"We're excited to have Ethan in the fold. He's one of our most improved prospects since Training Camp," said General Manager & Interim Head Coach Mark Lamb.

"He's a well-rounded defenceman with a promising offensive component to his game and still defends very well. We're thrilled to have him as a Prince George Cougar," said Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds.

Samson, a right-handed shot blue-liner, played this past season at the Delta Hockey Academy for their Elite 15 program in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL). The product of North Delta, BC, was their highest scoring defenceman, with seven goals, and 17 assists for 24 points in 33 regular season games. In the CSSHL playoffs, Samson had two goals and two assists for four points in four games, as he led the Delta Hockey Academy to a semi-final berth.

Samson is the fourth player to sign a WHL Standard Player Agreement from the Cougars' 2018 WHL Bantam Draft class.
