Prince George Cougars News Release
PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars have announced that they have launched the 2005/2006 Solo Captains Clinics.
Solo Captains Clinics are a skills-based grassroots hockey program targeted at 9 to 12 year old minor hockey players and their parents across Canada (minor atom, atom, minor peewee and peewee players are the core focus of the program). Solo Captains Clinics promote fundamental player skill development in a fun and challenging setting, while focusing on skating, agility, puck control, shooting and passing accuracy.
The program is executed by top Junior players in various cities where players will demonstrate and coach on-ice skills during a short clinic as part of the participating minor hockey team's regular practice time.
Watch out this season as local minor hockey players hit the ice at upcoming Cougars games to showcase the skills they learned from Cougars captain Myles Zimmer, and assistant captains Colin Patterson, Eric Hunter, and Andy Rogers. Sessions are scheduled for the 1st intermissions on December 11, December 16, January 15, January 20, February 22, March 3, and March 10.
