LAST GAME: Brian Farber netted three goals, and added two assists in California's nail-biting 9-8 win versus the Denver Dynamite (0-4) at Turlock Indoor Soccer on Sunday evening. The Cougars (2-1) fell behind 1-0 in the opening minute, trailed 4-3 at the half, but rallied for the 9-8 home win.

CALIFORNIA VS. WENATCHEE: The Cougars were 4-0 versus Wenatchee last year. The Cougars defeated the Fire 15-7 in Wenatchee on 11/15/08, 12-6 in Wenatchee on 12/27/08, 13-6 at Stockton Arena on 1/28/09 and 19-3 in the regular season finale at Stockton Arena... Brian Farber scored 11 goals in four games versus Wenatchee last season.

COUGARS AT A GLANCE: The Cougars are the defending PASL-Pro champions... They finished the 2008-09, inaugural PASL-Pro season with a record of 12-4... The Cougars enter their fourth match of the 2009-10 season with a 2-1 league record, and overall mark of 3-1... They are coming off a 9-8 home win versus the Denver Dynamite on 12/6 at Turlock Indoor Soccer and will play two matches this weekend... Their first match will be held at Estadio Azteca Sports Arena in Sacramento at 7PM on Saturday night... Their second game of the weekend is a non-league contest versus a yet to be determined United States Arena Soccer Open Cup Tournament opponent on Sunday at 4PM in Turlock... WENATCHEE AT A GLANCE: The Fire were 2-14 in PASL-Pro play last season... They finished the year with league worsts in record (2-14), goal differential (-83), goals forced (99), and goals allowed (182)... Wenatchee enters the 2009-10 season as a provisional team in the PASL-Pro... Saturday's match is their first of five this season, and their first of two versus California.

ANNIVERSARY FOR SUTTON AND KNIGHTS: Saturday's match marks Sutton's return to Sacramento as a professional. Sutton scored 66 goals, had 18 assists and totaled 53 blocks in 91 games for the Sacramento Knights between 1997 and 2001. Sutton netted 12 goals and added three assists for 15 points during Sacramento's championship run in 1999. Sutton scored one goal during the World Indoor Soccer League championship match versus Dallas at ARCO Arena on Dec. 12, 1999. Sacramento was 17-5 in 1999. The Knights defeated Utah 6-1 in the semi-finals and Dallas 7-6 in the WISL inaugural championship match. The Knights played at ARCO Arena between 1993 and 2001.

BROADCAST INFORMATION: Saturday's match will be broadcast live on via streaming audio... Sunday's match will also broadcast live on Select games will air on 1420 AM KSTN in Stockton.

COUGARS HOME SCHEDULE: The 16 game regular season schedule will consist of eight road games and eight home dates. Of the eight home games, four will be played at Stockton Arena and four will be held at various locations in the Central Valley. The Cougars are scheduled to play two regular season matches at Turlock Indoor Soccer and two at Estadio Azteca Sports Arena in Sacramento. The announced schedule also includes one US Open Cup match and the exhibition on November 8 for a total of 18 games. Ten of the 16 regular season games will be played against division opponents, four versus provisional opponents and one versus the Edmonton Drillers of the Canadian Major Indoor Soccer League.

US OPEN CUP TOURNEY: California's opponent on Sunday will be determined during the qualifying round of the United States Arena Soccer Open Cup Tournament on Saturday at Estadio Azteca Sports Arena. The participating teams include: Sacramento Scorpions, Chico Bigfoot, Off the Wall Santa Clara and Estadio Azteca. The tournament is in its second year, and is the nation's largest professional and amateur arena tournament. The qualifying round teams are amateur clubs attempting to earn the right to face teams from the PASL-Pro. The St. Louis Illusion beat the Detroit Waza Flo Pro 8-3 in the US Open Cup final. Like the outdoor Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the US Arena Open is conducted as an in-season tournament, separate from the league championships.
