
Cougars announce Lee Cotton as head coach

Cuyahoga Falls, OH - The city of Cuyahoga Falls shoots and scores with the announcement of Lee Cotton of Akron, Ohio as head coach of the Cuyahoga Falls Cougars.
International Basketball League (IBL) Operations Director Tony Alvarez will be visiting Cuyahoga Falls to hold an ownership announcement on Wednesday, August 17th at 6:00 pm at the Natatorium Health & Fitness Center (2345 4th Street).
The Cougars invite the general public to join us for a press conference as Lee Cotton accepts the head coach position and Shane Conwell of Copley, Ohio signs-on as first player.
Coach Cotton was assistant basketball coach at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School for the 1999-2003 season. He has had three state championship titles (2000, 2001, and 2003 - undefeated 27-0), a state runner-up championship title (2002), and an USA TODAY National Championship Title (2003). Cotton has also coached the North East Ohio (NEO) Shooting Stars which led to a Youth Basketball Association of America (YBOA) National Championship (1997) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championship Runner-Up (1998).
Shane Conwell, a 6'6", 200-pound Health Education major at Malone College, averaged 23.2 points per game for a total of 734 season points and 1,558 career points. He also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
Cuyahoga Falls will be the IBL's fifth expansion city. The Cougars will be one of six expansion teams slated to begin play in late March of 2006.
Cuyahoga Falls Mayor Don L. Robart, Marc Cook, Cougars owner, and Ryan Isley, Cougars General Manager will also be available to answer questions.
