Cuyahoga Falls Cougars moving to Akron, OH for 2007 IBL season
June 18, 2006 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Akron Cougars News Release
The Cuyahoga Falls Cougars of the International Basketball League announced today they will be moving to Akron, Ohio for the 2007 IBL Season. It was slated for there to be an IBL team in both Cuyahoga Falls and Akron in 2007 but the Cougar Organization which owns the rights to both cities has decided for many reasons moving the Cougars to Akron and not having two teams makes positive business sense. Moving to such a large city such as Akron offers many advantages both on and off the court. Lack of community support and the high costs associated with the playing facility where the Cougars currently play were cited as the main reasons for leaving Cuyahoga Falls.
