Cosmos and Under Armour Reveal Partnership Kit for 2016 Season
March 16, 2016 - North American Soccer League (NASL)
New York Cosmos News Release
The New York Cosmos and Under Armour today unveiled match kits for the 2016 season at the Under Armour Brand House in New York City. The world-famous soccer team will debut the white uniform at their season opener at Hofstra Stadium on April 3 against Ottawa Fury FC.
As part of the multi-year partnership, which was announced in early March, Under Armour will also provide game-changing competition, training, sideline, and travel gear and apparel innovatively created to help athletes perform on and off the field. The New York Cosmos are the first professional soccer team sponsorship in the U.S. for Under Armour.
As an industry leader in sports apparel, footwear and equipment, Under Armour currently outfits world-renowned soccer clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur F.C., São Paulo FC, Colo-Colo and Cruz Azul as well as players like Memphis Depay of Manchester United, Granit Xhaka of Borussia Mönchengladbach, and 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup winners Lauren Holiday and Kelley O'Hara.
In the fall of 2015, Under Armour launched its first-ever soccer campaign, "Slay Your Next Giant," which speaks to the dedication it takes to overcome challenges at every level of the game, and to the importance of valuing the journey over the destination.
