Copeland Named CFL's Chief Operating Officer

Toronto, Ontario - (January 10, 2006) - The Canadian Football League announced today the appointment of Michael Copeland as Chief Operating Officer for the CFL. In this new role, Mr. Copeland reports to Commissioner Tom Wright and will be responsible for the football operations, finance & administration and legal functions at the League office.

"With an ongoing commitment to building our product and expanding our business, we are extremely excited to welcome Michael Copeland to the CFL," said Tom Wright, Commissioner of the CFL. "The League has made tremendous strides forward both on and off the field over the past few years and we are eager to capitalize on that momentum. We enter 2006 in a great position to further build our game and this League into a strong and competitive sports and entertainment organization."

Mr. Copeland comes to the CFL with extensive international business development, management and legal experience. Copeland practiced law in London, Ontario prior to joining Blake, Cassels & Graydon in Toronto. He later worked for Deloitte Consulting in Sydney, Australia as a senior consultant before returning to Canada with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Following three years of work for BCG across North America, Copeland brought his strong process management experience and a broad perspective of several industries to the Molson Coors Brewing Company in Business Planning and Business Development departments. Most recently, Copeland was Director, Marketing for Molson's national value brand portfolio. Copeland has a law degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from UWO's Richard Ivey School of Business.

In a parallel announcement, Brent Scrimshaw will assume the title of Chief Marketing Officer for the CFL continuing to lead the League's broadcast, partnerships, communications, and overall marketing initiatives.

Copeland will assume his responsibilities as COO at the League office on January 16, 2006.
