Cooper Returns to Knights

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Knights announced the assignment Miacah Cooper today. Cooper is the first player from the 2003 American Conference Championship roster to return to the Knights for the 2004 campaign.

Cooper (6-3, 215, Morris Brown) will return for his third season with the Knights. The wide receiver/linebacker played in three games during the 2002 season and 14 games in 2003.

In 2003, Cooper caught 40 passes for 388 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 21.5 tackles (16 solo), one interception (returned for a TD), one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.

Cooper, originally from Savannah, Ga., is the third player to be assigned to the Knights for the 2003 season. Cooper joins Lavar Rainey, a defensive specialist, and John Mannino, a fullback/linebacker, as the first players on the 2004 Knights roster.

The Macon Knights – 2003 American Conference Champions – will begin their fourth season of play next spring and are looking to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.
