Joliet, Ill. - The Joliet JackHammers congratulate Bryan Dolgin on his new position as pre/post game show host for the Texas Rangers, host of the Rangers Today/Tonight program on KRLD-AM/FM, and fill-in play-by-play/color commentator. Dolgin's first broadcast will be Opening Day, April 5, 2010, when the Rangers take on the Toronto Blue Jays.
"From Miami to Beloit to Myrtle Beach to Joliet to Chicago, it's been a fun and interesting ride. The dream continues in Texas. I'm anxious to be part of the Major League broadcast experience, once again, but this time in more expanded role. I'm looking forward to being part of the Texas Rangers radio network and working with everyone involved with KRLD-AM and FM, the Rangers and, of course, Eric Nadel and Dave Barnett. It will be a fun season, and my family is looking forward to getting acclimated with the Metroplex community" said Dolgin.
Dolgin spent his last five seasons with ESPN Radio 1000 in Chicago, where he was the pre/post game show host for the Chicago White Sox radio network. Before that he spent three years as the voice of the JackHammers. Dolgin began his career during Joliet's inaugural, 2002 season.
The 2010 season will be Dolgin's 13th in pro baseball with five years in the majors and seven in the minors. His minor league stops have been at Single-A Beloit, WI (Milwaukee Brewers affiliate - '98), Single-A Advanced Myrtle Beach, SC (Atlanta Braves affiliate - '99-'01) and the JackHammers (independent Northern League - '02-'04). Dolgin is a '97 graduate of the University of Miami (FL). He grew up in Chicago's northern suburb of Deerfield, IL. He is a '93 graduate of Deerfield High School and is a lifelong White Sox fan.
LOOSE GRAVEL: The Joliet JackHammers 2010 Home Opener will be Friday, May 28th at 7:10pm against the Lake County Fielders, one of two Northern League expansion teams.
